Often overlooked, African Americans are 20% more likely to experience serious mental health problems than the general population. The constant overlooking of mental health issues in the black community has resulted in countless people left in hopeless situations including homelessness, incarceration, and the general inability to function in everyday society. The WAKE/UP Mental Health Outreach program is committed to doing whatever possible to help spread the message of mental health awareness, as well as providing real and meaningful support in the community.

We are pledging to take $5 for every "#BLACKMENTALHEALTHMATTERS" shirt/hoodie ($1 from tote bag) sale and using it to provide much needed assistance in the Houston homeless community, which has an overwhelming amount of people suffering with untreated mental health issues.

More information coming soon with time and dates of outreach events.
